Wells Fargo Rewards Credit Card Review

June 14, 2016 by CapitalistReview Leave a Comment

Sometimes it seems that all of the best rewards credit cards are ones that come with a hefty annual fee. Wells Fargo offers a reward credit card to their customers that not only boasts a $0 annual fee, but can earn 5x points.

Big Points Up Front

One of the best perks about the Wells Fargo Rewards Visa card is that consumers can earn 5 reward points for every dollar spent on gas, grocery, and drugstore purchases for the first six months of opening the account.

Virtually all other purchases will earn one point per dollar spent. You can also earn bonus points for shopping online through selected retailers through Wells Fargo’s Earn More Mall.

0% APR for 15 Months

Another huge perk is that the Wells Fargo Rewards Visa card comes with a 0% APR for the first 15 months. Even better, you can transfer other balances to the card and receive the same 0% APR for 15 months. However, transfer fees do apply. This might be a worthwhile card to consider if you are trying to get your debt in order.

Zero Liability Protection

Report suspicious activity on your account right away, and you will not be held responsible for the fraud charges.

Cellular Telephone Protection

Let’s face it. The warranty on cell phones can stink. If you pay your monthly phone bill with your Wells Fargo Rewards Visa, then you will get up to $600 in the case of damage or theft (after a $25 deductible). This protection plan can cover up to four cell phones connected to the bill.

Visa Benefits

Carrying a Visa card comes with its own set of perks, including the following:

  • Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver
  • Emergency Card Replacement
  • Roadside Dispatch
  • Travel Accident Insurance
  • Travel and Emergency Assistance Services

What Out for That APR

After the 15-month 0% bonus APR, the card comes with a variable rate of 12.40% – 26.24%. The card also boasts of its overdraft protection, but if it is used, the APR charged for the protection advance is 24.24% to 26.24%.

To qualify for the Wells Fargo Rewards Visa, you must have an existing relationship with Wells Fargo. If you do not, you can easily open up a savings or checking account to qualify. The Wells Fargo Rewards Visa has some pretty awesome perks and should be used for all grocery, gas, and drugstore purchases the first six months.
